Symba Berae Smith is originally from Gulfport, MS. After modeling and doing commercials in New York City, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a working actress. Since moving to Hollywood over fifteen years ago, her work has scanned the board - from films such as LA Confidential, Beverly Hills Cop III, Abandoned Minds and First Finish - to TV shows like C.S.I.: NY, Will & Grace, The West Wing, Friends, That's So Raven, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Passions, among others - to hosting several live and taped shows, including the poker pilot Final Table Challenge.
Starring in over 90 national and regional commercials for products such as Sierra Mist, JC Penny, Budweiser, Sprint, Acura, Miller Light, Sears, McDonald's, and Keebler - to name a few - has helped allow Symba to remain focused on her craft. For 7 years, she also starred in The Remarkable Mouth TV commercials in which she lip-synched to incredibly fast montages promoting radio stations. She has filmed almost sixty spots for around the country, as well as in different languages for around the globe. These commercials, along with her TV and film work, in addition to her titles of Star Search $100,000 Spokesmodel Winner and Miss Teen All American, have helped allow Symba to build a solid, worldwide fan base.
Symba writes, directs, and produces, as well. Her smash hit comedy, "Lana's Pupil, (Every Woman's Guide to Golddigging)" - which co-starred the beautiful, late Lana Clarkson - had audiences rolling and asking for more. She has also created and written for commercial, ½ hour, MFTV movie, game show, reality and feature film formats. She has created, directed, and produced spec commercials for advertising campaigns, as well.
Having performed on stage since the age of two, entertainment is Symba's true love. Her goal is to become a regular and/or host on a successful television show - as well as write and produce her own projects - but as she knows, life has a way of sending her in just the right direction - and whether that be acting, hosting, writing, producing, and/or directing in TV, film, and/or stage - she is positive she will always be an active part of the entertainment industry.
